QWho qualifies to have their name listed on the Wall of Heroes?

 

AVeterans who qualify to be listed on the Heroes Wall must meet two qualifications:

 

1. They must have been killed while in military service to our country or have died as a result of their military service to our country.

2. They or an immediate family member must be or have been an Atascadero Unified School District resident.

 

QWho qualifies to have their name listed on the Scroll of Honor?

 

A San Luis Obispo County Veterans who have lived outside Atascadero Unified School District may qualify for The Scroll of Honor.

Eligibility for The Scroll of Honor


Veterans who qualify for The Scroll of Honor must meet 2 qualifications:

1. The Veteran must have been killed while in the military service to our country or have died as a result of their military service to our country.

2. The Veteran or an immediate Family member must have been a resident of San Luis Obispo County.


 

QHow do I get my Veteran’s name on either the Wall of Heroes or the Scroll of Honor?

 

APlease contact the Atascadero Veterans Memorial Committee using the
Registration” link at the top of our website and complete the registration form with as much information about yourself and in the email form below, request a Veteran’s Application be sent to you to be completed by you, about your eligible Veteran.

Once the committee has received your completed application regarding your Veteran, it will be reviewed for eligibility and they will respond with a letter confirming the eligibility of your Veteran for Heroes Wall or The “Scroll of Honor”. It is Free of Charge to be included on either Heroes Wall or The Scroll of Honor although a Donation of any size to the Memorial Foundation is always appreciated.



QWhen will the Memorial be completed?



AThe Ground Breaking Ceremony is currently scheduled for this November 11th, Veterans Day, of 2007. The Memorial’s Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Date is scheduled for Memorial Day, 2008.
